Straight out of Compton:

straight out of Compton was a mainstream film,we know this as it had large producer help from ice cube, dr. dre, scott bernstein, gary gray, matt alvarez and tonica wright. the film was realised by universal pictures witch is a large studio so they could fund the film a lot more. the comapines that were involved with making it were legendary pictures, new line cinema, cube cinema, crucial films and broken chair flickz. they had a large budget of $28-$50 million dollars witch is almost the same as the amazing 2019 joker witch was seen as amazing. the film had a large budget. the box office intake was $208 million dollars over 4x what it cost to make the film meaning that it was a large success. the way that the film was marketed was through dr. dre making beats this would hype people up to watch the film, the other way that they did marketing was through having different trailers for different races (black, white and Hispanic audiences) they also went on talk shows and the NWA promoted the film witch the film is about them.

straight out of compton is based on the true story of the come up of N.W.A. and their struggles with the industry and the society at that time. most of the events of the film were true however some were faked to make the audience get more involved with the film a faked scene was The Straight Outta Compton true story reveals that Eazy-E bailed Dre out of jail for unpaid parking tickets on his Mazda RX7, not for punching a guy. another fictional scene was The Bye Felicia scene is fiction. It does not depict the origin of the popular catchphrase, "Bye Felicia," which is essentially the dismissive equivalent of the '90s insult, Talk to the Hand. The scene in the movie is instead a nod to the real origin of the catchphrase, Ice Cube's classic 1995 stoner comedy Friday. In that movie, Craig Ice Cube dismisses the neighborhood's freeloading drug addict Felisha by saying, Bye Felisha. they did this scene as it would be popular as it is a pop culture reference and would be seen as funny. scenes were altered to make it more interesting even though the film is long it still has to do this otherwise it will bore the viewer as getting bailed out for a parking ticket is boring.

one way that they made a viral sensation was making people feel proud where they came from using the straight out of and using famous people’s city’s as everybody is from somewhere and was telling people to rep their city. this was viral and people from all over the word made their own staging out of meme, celebrity’s joined in without taking celebrity endorsement money from beats it also made it on famous television talk shows. in 24 hours it was number 1 # on facebook twitter and instergram there is no other brand who has done this. other brands joined in on the marketing and created their versions of it, even being approved by the government even getting the former president Barack Obama to make his own straight out of meme this was the biggest campine out of 2015. this worked well as everyone could get involved in it as everybody is from somewhere and makes them get involved.

i believe that the film was successful, the reason i believe this is because it made over $208 million dollars in the box office and also helped promote the brand beats. even though this was a mainstream film it helped talk about the past of compton and what went on through there. it was also successful as gang films are hard to promote and can be a touchy subject in the media however it got all types of audiences to watch it making it very successful as it was a film for all races. they also had producers from the original N.W.A. showing that they care about the film that is being made. there isnt many films like this and the film that are like this did not do as well as this film.

the film received the age rating of 15 as the BBFCinsight of 'strong language, violence, sex, drug use, these would be the problems that were rose as it was a film about gangs it was a touchy subject and was shown all throughout the film.

at the start of the trailer we hear inspiration talking to motivate the viewer to watch the film they show intense scenes at the start too, to startle the viewer and to let them know that this film is serious about what they are talking about the music used is calm but fast to also create tension throughout the trailer. there is a lot of racial problems throughout the trailer too showing that this film is offensive and will show the ugly part of the society. the colouring used is dull and bland showing that this film again shows the ugly parts of the society, the trailer also has dark lighting again to show how ugly the real world is. the use celebrity endorsement by using close up of the celebrity they show the celebrity’s a lot throughout the film to show that this is why you should watch the film. the use of camera always has the celebrity’s as the main focus to make sure that you watch it for them. the editing used is quick and jumpy to make the viewer pay attention and to show that a lot will go out throughout the film. the editing also uses fade away cuts to show that the time is changing throughout the trailer. the setting is compton and how it is a bad area with a lot of violence and racial profiling. the clothing used by the cast is 1980s street wear witch was fashionable at that time. the ratings are high for this film so it makes the viewer want to watch the film as they know it would be good because of the high ratings that it received from the film.
